Royal Society for the Containment of Unusual Entities (RSCUE)
Recruitment Letter
Dear Madam Laisjan,
It is with great pleasure that I write to invite you to join the society which I represent. We understand that you recently lost your position at Ahminsbaki University due to an unfortunate policy enacted by the current administration. Your research is of great interest to us, and we would like to see it continue. To that end, we are willing to pay you a monthly salary of 60 Gulden along with providing you a fully equipped laboratory and any other resources you may need to proceed. The position may not be as illustrious as your academic career to date, however it would grant you the freedom to pursue your research unhindered.
As for who you will be working with, we are a Royally chartered society funded through the Empress's personal fund. We seek to understand the world in all its facets and preserve it for future generations. In addition to scholars such as yourself, we also employ a number of skilled craftspeople and specialists and posess a number of holdings to support our work.
Should you be so inclined, my collegues and I would love to meet you to discuss our work and what you can do to contribute. A representative of ours has a room at the Hotel Brissot. Ask for Madam Brunhilde Hassner, she will make arrangements for you to meet my superiors. I do hope to hear news of your acceptance imminently, though the offer will remain open indefinitely.
Yours truely, Baron Tittanu Tarupp
Introduction
Welcome specialist, to the Royal Society for the Containment of Unusual Entities. You are one of a select few who have proven themselves through both talent and demeanor to be a member in our esteemed group. We have been chartered by the royal family for nearly 2400 years to protect humanity from ancient powers which persist in the shadows of the modern world, and to protect those powers from humanity in its constant drive for progress. We operate independently of the government and remain unknown to them, as the lure and fear of the things we protect would endanger the balance we preserve.
As a field specialist, you will be assigned missions to go out into the world and secretly aquire and contain these ancient powers to bring back to our primary facility. We have numerous resources at your disposal, however secrecy is paramount if we are to maintain the security of our organization. You are expected to preserve that secrecy at any cost to yourself or others. If you are unable to do this, others from our organization will assist you in preserving that secrecy.
Now, if you'll come this way, it's time for you to meet your team.
