Specialist's Mask

A specialist's mask is an item which is bound to a single person through ritual, using illusion magic to transform their appearance into a single persona. The persona is decided upon when the mask is created, and cannot be changed by any means. The mask will not work for anyone other than the intended user. The mask automatically fails against any active effect which would dispell magic or undo an illusion, as well as any passive effect (such as truesight) with a DC 10 insight check. While the mask is actively being used, the user may once per day add +1 to a deception roll.

Heavy Cloak

A heavy cloak often used for travelling to protect the wearer from the elements. These are large and loose enough to conceal any gear which requires the Bulky to be hidden. Wearing these indoors will likely draw unwanted attention to oneself.

Containment Gem

The containment gem is an invention of the Society which is linked with a pocket dimension where time moves so slowly as to effectively be stopped. The gem is roughly palm-sized and inset in a disc of gold inscribed with arcane runes. If the gem is empty, you may use a full action to attempt to draw an object or creature into the pocket dimension. If the gem is not empty, you must use a full action to expell what was previously in the gem into an unoccupied space which does not endanger what is being expelled. A conscious creature is automatically able to resist being drawn in. The gem can be concealed in any gear which has the Bulky property.

Omnibadge

A blank piece of enchanted paper held in a protective leather bifold. When presented it will at a cursory glance appear to be a valid identification of any type. If someone is suspicious and makes a closer inspection, they must pass a DC 12 investigation or perception check.

Flashlight

A lightbulb contained in a light metal tube along with batteries. It projects bright light in a 40 foot cone and dim light an additional 40 feet beyond that. It may be turned on and off at will.

Telegraph Interceptor

This bulky machine is a modified portable telegraph terminal which can be clamped to the outside of a telegraph wire to transmit and receive messages along it. It drives needles into the wire to allow it to form a connection, and then heats the needs when retracted to melt and repair the protective coating and hide traces of tampering.

Athanartype Camera

A device which uses the principles pioneered by the Friathwan chemist and inventor Gustaf Athanaric. A plate coated with silver iodide is exposed to a scene through a tiny point in a box which allows light through, and then later developed with mercury vapor and fixed with a salt solution. The resulting photographic plate captures a sharp copy of the scene it was exposed to.

Stasis Box

A small box roughly the side of a lunch pail. When opened, it is freezing cold inside, and any items placed into it stop decaying until they are removed.
